Australia under MXRAD attack!

Apart from supplying riders with all their Motocross needs - from a precision built race engine to the ultimate suspension set-up as well as all motorcycle hardware and apparel needs and all the best advice possible - the new MXRAD concept store is set to rock the Motocross world.

But the team at MXRAD also has the technical ability and the association with some of the leading Motocross companies from around the globe to give riders the best possible information and services.

And according to Brian Rhodin, one of the MXRAD directors, the new venture is more than just another Motocross retail outlet - in fact, he says it’s a total Motocross experience and a unique arm for developing the sport in Australia.

“The grand plan is the have an MXRAD in each capital city where a retail outlet will sell performance parts from Bud Racing,” said Mr Rhodin.

“Already in Sydney we are happening, and this head site also has a new style of workshop open to the public where bike owners can actually see their bikes being worked on and a chill-out area where we will offer not just advice, but we can also sit down with riders and give them ideas and work out tailor-made plans for their bike needs”, says Mr. Rhodin.

“It’s really about building the proper bike around the physical characteristics of the rider as well”, he says.

“And unlike with other Motocross outlets, where you have to send the bike away to an engine specialist or a suspension specialist, we will have all those under one roof, giving bike owners the opportunity to talk through their needs and ideas with those that are working on their machines”.

To keep a tight lid on quality control, the MXRAD site at Prestons in western Sydney will be the HQ for this venture - the Sydney store already is equipped with detailed fact sheets and technical data on everything it stocks or can acquire.

On the track, this full bike and rider service is reflected by the JDR Motorsport team - which throughout 2009 will be strongly supported and branded by MXRAD - buying a $350,000 long-haul Kenworth truck.

This JDR initiative to support its team and riders is packed full of gear, parts and equipment so that they are able to bring their expertise to the riders wherever they are.

But the greatest news is for the everyday rider! MXRAD will be ‘branding’ the bikes on which its mechanics work by giving the riders a pride sticker - known as a Rad-Attack sticker, meaning only those that have put their bikes through the MXRAD workshop will be entitled to these exclusive decals.

The Race TeamMr. Rhodin says the MXRAD concept is a now “one stop shop for all riders needs - from the bike to the rider”.

Head of MXRAD Technical Services (the mechanical division), Mr Brendan Radford, believes strongly that the consulting part of Motocross has really been missing in the industry.

“What you need is to make a bike with the right amount of horsepower for that particular rider - basically, a good degree of customisation,” said Mr Radford.

“You need to be able to do a bike up to get the most speed out of it and to also understand the rider’s capabilities - something that we are very good at,” he says.

All the while, at the pointy end on the track, JDR Motorsports will train and manage the race team; a marriage MXRAD believes will provide ‘a lot of opportunities for all Motocross enthusiasts’.

The race team is:
• Andrew ‘Sharky’ McFarlane - Pro Open class
• Beau Ralston - Pro Open class
• Ryan ‘Doggie’ Marmont - Pro Lite class
• Danny ‘Digsy’ Anderson - Pro Lite class
